²² While they were eating, Jesus^[a] took a loaf of bread and blessed it. Then he broke it in pieces and handed it to them, saying, “Take some. This is my body.” ²³ Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, and they all drank from it. ²⁴ He told them, “This is my blood of the covenant that is being poured out for many people.
